For professional
services as we know it’s an average ratio of 3.9 hrs. (approx. 4 hrs.) of
timing we do work on the floor (productive hrs.), rest went in discussion and
all the stuff around the floor,
A survey in America
has been done to know how much people uses their phone averagely in a day, its
almost 5 hrs. a day.
These ratio
ring alarm around of how to convert more productive hours in the improvement of
work efficacy.
So we have
been paid to work for 9 hrs. and productive hrs. is around 4 hrs. so in these
productive hours, we are chatting on our phone and working as well. I thought a
lot about it and tried to improve the process, as we can’t force employee not
to use mobiles on the floor as it will lead to employee dissatisfaction.
1 idea came in my mind to become
bridging gap between these issues.
Park your phone for 5 hrs. in whole
working day.
1st 3 hrs. of your day parking your
phone would be
better as these are the productive hours in professional services.
And last 2 hrs. of end of the day we
can park the phone,
as these are the productive hours, because these last 2 hrs. the mindset of
employee is to go home and they just want to kill hours using their mobile.
It can
differ company to company and process to process, as per the requirement of how
the work should be done in minimal time.
2nd thing we can do is to create
awareness among people on the floor about using mobile phones is worst for
health as well, so parking phone will lead to less hazardous effect to the
employees.
Ultimate goal
of increasing working hrs. can be achieved by doing on a process and see if
improvement happens on the floor.
“Process improvement is
nothing but the change which reflects revenue generation without employee
dissatisfaction”
Try to implement it on your process
and then see if the productivity increase.
“As mobile is a curse
which we chose ourselves”
